Our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") was put together for the reference of "Studio CX360" and their founders to explain how the information they collect, intend to use and share related to all business operations current and future - both online and offline.

Jin Mobile (iOS App) and Jin4Mac Privacy Notice

Jin Mobile (iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch) and Jin4Mac (Mac) are apps published by Studio CX360. This notice covers both apps. Where it differs from the general Studio CX360 policy above, this notice applies to the apps.

The short version

Your recordings and notes live on your own devices and in your own iCloud. Studio CX360 runs no server for either app and cannot see anything you record or write. Nothing goes to another company unless you connect that company yourself with your own key or account. Neither app tracks you, shows ads or uses analytics. Nothing you record is used to train any model by Studio CX360.

What the apps collect

Audio you record: dictation, Thoughts and meetings. The transcripts made from that audio. Anything you attach: photos, videos, files, web links and text you share in. Notes you type. Due dates, reminders and calendar events you create from a note. On the Mac, also the screenshots you take with Jin4Mac and your clipboard history, both described below.

Where your data goes

Recordings, transcripts, attachments and settings are stored on your device and in your own iCloud Drive under your Apple Account, so your iPhone, iPad and Mac stay in step. This is Apple's storage. Studio CX360 has no access to it. Apple's privacy policy governs how iCloud handles it.

What Studio CX360 receives

• Nothing you record, type, copy or attach.

• To check a Jin4Mac licence, Jin4Mac writes one value to Apple's CloudKit: a scrambled code made from your Mac's hardware ID. It cannot be turned back into the ID. Your email and licence key stay in this Mac's keychain and are not sent anywhere.

• Jin4Mac downloads a list of cancelled licence keys and checks for updates from GitHub. Nothing about you is sent with either request. GitHub sees the network address that asks, as any website does.

• If you use Report a Problem, Jin4Mac opens an email in Mail addressed to us. It holds the app version, macOS version, Mac model, language and an install number, plus any files you choose to add. Nothing is sent until you press Send.

• What you give us when you buy, such as your name and email, is covered by the general policy above.

What the apps do not do

• No advertising and no advertising identifier.

• No tracking, and nothing shared with data brokers or ad networks.

• No analytics and no crash-reporting service.

• Nothing you record or write is sold. None of it is used to train any model by Studio CX360.

• Nothing in the general policy above about tailoring advertising, content or offers applies to the apps.

Recording other people

Recording a conversation can need the agreement of everyone in it. Many countries and US states require it, including California and Illinois. You are responsible for getting that agreement.

• Every time a meeting starts, on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, the app shows a Recording consent notice. Nothing is recorded until you tap or click Consent taken. Choosing not to record keeps nothing. The meeting keeps the date and time you confirmed, and the first line above its transcript shows it.

• A phone call placed with Jin4Mac's Call key is dialled at once. Recording waits for Consent taken, because the other person can only agree once they have answered.

• Neither app joins your meetings as a participant or sends a bot into a call. That means nobody else in the meeting is told by the app that you are recording, so tell them yourself.

• Take extra care with conversations about health, money or other private matters.

• Meetings are recorded and transcribed on your device. They go to a cloud service only if you choose Deepgram for meetings, or on the Mac choose to transcribe a meeting with Gemini.

Jin4Mac can notice that a meeting has started on your Mac and ask whether to record it. To do this it looks at which app is in front, the titles of open windows, whether your microphone is in use, and your calendar. All of this stays on your Mac. Jin4Mac never starts recording a meeting by itself. You can turn meeting detection off in Settings.

Voice identification (voiceprints)

A voiceprint is a set of numbers measured from how a person sounds. Some laws treat it as a biometric identifier, including in Illinois, Texas and Washington.

• The most either app keeps is one voiceprint: yours, and only once you ask for it. On the Mac, turn on Remember my voice in Settings, Meetings, Voices. On Jin Mobile, mark your own speaker in a meeting with This is me. Before that, nothing of your voice is kept. Your voiceprint puts your name on your own words in later meetings.

• Neither app keeps a voiceprint of anybody else. During a meeting the app measures each voice so it can tell the speakers apart. Those measurements are used for that meeting only and are not kept afterwards.

• Other people are named in each meeting: by you, or on the Mac by the names shown in your call window. A name you gave someone in a past meeting stays on that meeting, and no later meeting recognises them by voice.

• Your voiceprint is kept on your devices and in your own iCloud. It is never sent to Studio CX360 or to any service you connect, and it is never sold, shared or used for anything else.

• Your voiceprint is deleted when you press Forget in Settings, or when you delete the meeting it was learned from. Turning Remember my voice off stops anything new being kept.

Services you can connect

Each service below is off until you add your own API key or sign in to your own account. Your agreement for each is with that company. Its own privacy policy and terms decide what it does with what you send, and what each says today is summarised below. Read their terms before you send anything sensitive, and check them again from time to time, because they can change.

On Jin Mobile, keys are entered in Settings → Language → AI Models, and Notion and Plaud are connected in Settings → Connections. On the Mac, keys are entered in Settings → AI Models.

API keys are kept in your iCloud Keychain. A key you add on one device turns that service on for your other devices too. Removing a key stops all calls to that service.

Meetings ask first

A meeting holds other people's words. The first time a meeting would go to Groq, Gemini or Notion, the app asks you, once for each service. Until you say yes, meetings stay on your device and the app uses its on-device engines instead. Each device asks for itself, and you can change your answers in Settings, Meetings. Your own dictation and Thoughts are not asked about.

The services

• Google Gemini. Text, for cleaning up dictation, rephrasing, Hinglish, Tanglish or Banglish, translating, titles and tags, paragraphs, summaries, Chat and answering questions about a note. Photos attached to a note, when you ask a question about it. On the Mac, also meeting audio when you choose to transcribe a meeting with Gemini, and text to be read aloud when you choose a Gemini voice. Jin Mobile never sends recorded audio to Gemini. On a free Gemini key, Google's terms say it uses what you send to improve its products, and that human reviewers may read it. On a key with billing turned on, Google says it does not use what you send for that, and keeps it for a limited time only to detect misuse. In the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, Google applies the billed rules to free keys too.

• Groq. Text, for the same writing and reasoning work as Gemini. On the Mac this includes the bolt, which sends text from your screen as described below. Recorded audio is never sent to Groq. Groq's terms say it does not train on what you send and does not keep it by default. It may keep it for up to 30 days while looking into errors or misuse, unless you turn on Zero Data Retention in your Groq account's Data Controls.

• ElevenLabs. Recorded audio, for transcribing languages you route there, such as Arabic. On plans below Enterprise, ElevenLabs may use the audio to improve its models unless you opt out in your ElevenLabs account settings. Its zero retention mode is for Enterprise customers only.

• Deepgram. Meeting audio, for transcription and labelling who spoke, when you choose Deepgram for meetings. Under its Model Improvement Program, Deepgram may use the audio you send it to improve its models. The app does not opt out of that program, because opting out removes Deepgram's discount on your own key. Your agreement on this is with Deepgram.

• Google Cloud Text to Speech. Text you want read aloud, when you choose a Google voice.

• Notion. Your notes, meetings and summaries, with their audio and pictures, for pages in the Notion database you choose. Once you connect Notion, every new Thought is sent to it on its own. Meetings follow once you say yes to sending meetings to Notion, and a meeting includes what everybody on the call said.

• Plaud (Jin Mobile). Signs you in to Plaud so Jin Mobile can import recordings you made on a Plaud device into your own iCloud.

• Webhooks (Jin Mobile). The content you set, sent to an address you wrote. Studio CX360 cannot see what goes there.

• Web search in Chat (Jin4Mac). Off until you turn it on. A search made from your question is sent to DuckDuckGo, and the pages it finds are fetched.

Local mode

Both apps have a switch called Local. With it on, none of the services above are used, whether or not you have keys saved. Recording, transcription and translation use the engines on your device. Your iCloud keeps working, because that is your own storage. Model downloads keep working, because nothing of yours is sent with them.

Apple services

Speech, text recognition in pictures and Apple Intelligence features run on your device. If you turn on Apple's server speech recognition in Settings (on the Mac it is called Better live transcription), live audio goes to Apple under Apple's terms. That setting is off by default, and while it is off no audio goes to Apple. Asking Siri to do something in Jin Mobile sends that spoken command to Apple, as any Siri request does.

Events and reminders the apps write to Apple Calendar and Reminders are kept by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's iCloud terms.

Speech and language models

The models both apps use are downloaded from Hugging Face and GitHub. Nothing you recorded or wrote is sent when a model is fetched. On the Mac, Thought search can use a model running in Ollama on your own Mac. That stays on your Mac.

Moving things between your devices

If your Mac and iPhone are on the same network, a dictation or a clipboard item can go straight from one to the other. The connection is encrypted and passes through no server. Share as Jin Note saves a note as a file you send to someone yourself. A share link puts a copy of the note in your own iCloud, and anyone who has the link can read that copy, so send it only to the people you mean to.

Locking

You can lock a note. Its content is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it is saved or synced, and the key is held in your Keychain. A locked note stays encrypted in your iCloud. Opening it asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your password. On the Mac you can also lock a folder, which asks for Touch ID or your password before it shows what is inside. A locked folder is not encrypted.

Jin Mobile only

• Location. Jin Mobile can remind you about a note when you arrive at or leave a place you pin. It asks for "Always" location permission. This runs on your iPhone and your location is not sent anywhere. Remove the pinned place, or turn off Location in iOS Settings, to stop it.

• Keyboard. The Jin Mobile keyboard records your voice through the main app, transcribes it on your device and types the result where you were. The audio is held in memory and is not saved unless you save it as a Thought.

• Translating from the keyboard and the share sheet. The keyboard can translate the text in the field you are typing in, or text you copied. With a Gemini key, that text goes to Google. Jin Mobile asks once, shows you what is about to be sent, and you can say no.

• Hey Jin. Jin Mobile can listen for the phrase "Hey Jin" so you can start recording without touching your phone. It runs on your iPhone, sends no audio anywhere, and is off by default.

• Contacts. If you mention a person in a note, Jin Mobile can offer to add them to your Contacts, and checks first whether they are already there. Your Contacts are not sent anywhere.

• Reminders and Calendar. A reminder or due date you set is written to your Reminders or Calendar, and Jin Mobile reads back changes you make there.

• Apple Watch. Recordings you make on Apple Watch go to your iPhone over Apple's watch connection and are handled like any other recording.

• Diagnostics. Jin Mobile keeps a log of what it does on your iPhone, to help fix faults. It can include words you dictated. It stays on the device, and the copy in Apple's system log has the words hidden. If you turn on Save logs to iCloud, which is off unless you switch it on to send logs for support, a copy goes to your own iCloud Drive.

Jin4Mac only

• Permissions. Jin4Mac asks macOS for Microphone, Speech Recognition, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, System Audio Recording, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Location, Notifications, adding to Photos, Local Network and control of Mail. Each one is for the feature named below. You can refuse or withdraw any of them in System Settings, and the rest of Jin4Mac keeps working.

• Dictation into other apps. Accessibility and Input Monitoring let your shortcut work in any app and let Jin4Mac type your words where your cursor is. Jin4Mac reads where the text box is so the pill can stay out of your way.

• Reading your screen for spellings. When you dictate, copy or save a Thought, Jin4Mac reads the window in front so it can spell names and terms the way your screen spells them. This stays on your Mac. You can turn it off in Settings.

• The bolt (AI Instructions). When you press the bolt, Jin4Mac reads the text you selected, or the box you are typing in, or the window in front, plus your clipboard. It sends that text and your spoken instruction to Groq or Gemini under your key. It only runs when you press it.

• Clipboard history (Clippy). Jin4Mac keeps a history of what you copy. It skips anything a password manager marks as private. You can list apps whose copies are never kept. The history stays on your Mac and syncs to your iPhone and iPad through your iCloud and your local network. On the Mac, items are removed after a month by default.

• Screenshots (Circled and Smart Shots). Pictures you take with Jin4Mac are kept with the note they belong to in your iCloud. Text in them is read on your Mac. A copy goes to Photos only if you turn that on.

• Meetings and calls. Jin4Mac records your microphone and the sound your Mac plays, so both sides of a call are in the recording. For phone calls started with the Call key, it records the call audio the same way. Nothing is recorded until you click Consent taken.

• Speaker names from the call window. During a meeting Jin4Mac can read the names shown in your call app's window, so it can label speakers. The window is read on your Mac and the names stay there. You can turn this off in Settings.

• Mail. Jin4Mac reads the subject and ID of the email you have selected so it can link a note to it. It does not read the message body.

• Location. The same place reminders as Jin Mobile, run on your Mac.

• Diagnostics. Jin4Mac keeps a log of what it does, to help fix faults. It can include words you dictated. It is a file in Jin4Mac's own folder on your Mac, it is not sent anywhere, and each day's file is deleted after seven days. The copy in Apple's system log has the words hidden.

Keeping and deleting your content

• Notes, transcripts, meetings and attachments stay until you delete them.

• Audio from a dictation or Thought is kept for 14 days by default, and you can change that in Settings. Meeting audio is kept until you delete the meeting.

• Deleting a note or meeting removes it, its audio, its pictures and your voiceprint learned from it, from your devices and your iCloud. On the Mac, deleted items wait in Trash for 30 days first, and deleting a meeting for good also removes the copy in Jin4Mac's own archive.

• Audio from a recording that was discarded or cut off is kept on that one device so an accident does not lose it. Nothing there is transcribed, synced or uploaded. You import it or delete it.

• Voiceprints follow the rules in Voice identification above.

• Studio CX360 has no copy of anything, so there is nothing for us to delete. Content you sent to a service you connected is deleted through that service.

Age

Jin Mobile is rated 4+ on the App Store, and Jin4Mac can be used at any age. Students can use both apps in lectures and classes. Studio CX360 collects no personal information through either app, from anyone of any age, because what you record and write stays on your device and in your own iCloud.

The services you can connect set their own age limits, and the person whose key or account is used agrees to them. Google's Gemini API, for example, is for people aged 18 and over. A student under that age should use the apps without those services.

The age limit in the general policy above is about buying from Studio CX360 on this website. It does not limit who may use the apps.

Changes

If what either app sends, or who receives it, changes in a way that matters, this notice is updated and its date below changes.
